In 2022, the popular GMC Sierra truck made waves by introducing a fresh look at the front and rear, and the 2023 model year brings a few additional updates to the mix. For 2022, two new trim levels were added for drivers to choose from. These are the Denali Ultimate and the AT4X. If you opt for the Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate, your vehicle will have massaging front seats, full-grain leather material, wood trim, and customized styling on the interior and exterior. The AT4X is an off-road-ready model that adds some adventure-minded and mechanical features. These include steel bumpers at the front and rear, a steel skid plate, a front winch, a transfer case, and a rear differential.

2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition

For the 2023 model year, GMC has decided to take things to the next level with the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition. This version of the GMC Sierra 1500 offers exclusive styling and rugged off-road capability. Here's what you can expect from the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition:

• 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires
• A unique front grille and fascia that allows for the new bumper and larger tires
• AEV stamped steel front and rear bumpers with heavy duty recovery points and front-bumper winch capability

2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Specs & Features

Four engines continue to be available in the new GMC Sierra. The entry-level engine is an I-4, 2.7-liter turbo engine with an 8-speed automatic, and it delivers 310 horsepower. A mid-range engine is the 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine. It produces 355 horsepower. With two-wheel drive, it has an eight-speed auto transmission. This V8 engine comes with a 10-speed auto transmission if you step up to four-wheel drive. The top two powertrains are a 420-horsepower, 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 gas system, and a 277-horsepower, 3.0-liter Duramax I-6 diesel system. A 10-speed auto transmission is standard for both of these powertrains.

The exterior of the 2023 GMC Sierra continues to have a magnetic appeal. Its confidence is displayed through its broad dimensions and boxy shape. The tall hood has linear personality lines that trend toward the wide grille. This grille is capped on the sides by comma-shaped, LED-enhanced headlights. The GMC Sierra also has running boards, a multi-function tailgate, heated side mirrors, tow hooks, skid plates, and other gear in select trim levels.
